I made the hot red lampshade first then I was inspired to make this one.
I am inspired by Dartmoor, by music, by colour, by improvisation, by life!
I work from my beautiful studio on the edge of Darmoor. I love Dartmoor - the rich landscape, the wilderness, the feeling of freedom and sense of ancient history. I love the rough texture and the randomness of the huge majestic granite boulders and tors.
I love art and textiles and I love mixing colours.
I'm love jazz improvisation and this inspires my work.
I use deliberately low-tech methods, hand-printing with potatoes and other unusual objects. Each potato has its own unique shape, which I allow to influence the design.
I work intuitively, starting with the germ of an idea and allowing the process to develop leading to a result which was not planned.
The cushions and lampshades I make are unique and inspired with no more than two of any particular style. This means that a 'Susie Honnor' is a rare thing!

This beautiful hand-printed lampshade will make you think of the swinging sixty's! Imagine strolling down Carnaby Street watching all the groovy people then call into a Conran shop and buy the latest modern fabric to run yourself up a mini shift dress! This stunning design is printed with potatoes in cool colours - blue, green and black and the shapes are lively and varied. Please don't stop there - why not check out the complementary lampshade in hot red, orange and black! There is a lovely random and joyous quality to this lampshade which looks stunning in both daytime and nightime.
Measurements: 36cm diameter and 19cm high.
Care: To remove any dust wipe gently with a soft cloth. Please use an LED bulb.
