Welcome!

I’m Susie and I make beautiful, totally unique hand-printed and hand-made cushions, with sustainability at the heart of everything I do. I use potatoes, other vegetables and unconventional materials to create my designs. Although the process is low-tech, I carefully consider every single detail at every stage to produce very special cushions which will bring joy, stand the test of time and be treasured forever.

I was brought up in a creative family and I have lived a rich life including extensive travel, working as a music teacher in schools and teaching yoga in prisons.

Back in the late 1970s I lived with the artist Winifred Nicholson on Hadrian's wall. I worked as a rug weaver at that time and became fascinated by colour which led me to hand-dye all my yarn. Today, I live and work from my studio on the edge of Dartmoor, where I have enthusiastically turned my attention back to being a textile designer; this time working with print.

Caring for the environment is very important to me and I pay careful attention to the sustainability of every part of the making — from the choice of inks, fabrics and cushion pads to packing, so you can be sure that your product has not harmed the planet in any way.
