Marta
This is a familiar landscape as I come from the "land of the windmills", in central Spain. I really wanted to capture it while practicing woodcutting.
This windmill was carved in some of my family's olive wood, which isn't usually the printmaker's first choice as it is very hard wood but that was balanced out by the sweet layer of familiarity it brings to me.

Full description
Typical Spanish windmill from La Mancha (central Spain). This is the famous "giant" that Don Quixote imagined and was ready to attack!
Even though most not in use nowadays, some windmills occasionally grind grain for festivals such as Consuegra's international "Saffron Festival" every October.
Printed using Spanish olive wood on 140gsm recycled paper (made out of take away cups) using non-toxic oil-based ink.
Unframed and signed in pencil. Part of an open edition.
This print fits standard 15cm x 15cm frames.
All products at Of Books and Bees are designed, made and packed by me, Marta, a small seller.
-This print/image is only available for personal use.-
