Make your handmade jewellery stand out from the crowd with these pretty, spiral end, 14 carat gold filled head pins. The price is for a set of 2 (one pair) head pins.
The pins are individually handcrafted using 14K gold filled wire (scroll down for more info about gold fill). Each one is formed into a spiral at one end and the spiral is then hammered flat, making it strong and sturdy. The pins are then tumbled in a barrel polisher for optimum strength and shine.
Head pins are sold in a choice of wire gauges and pin lengths to suit your project needs.
DETAILS:-
- Handmade to order and ready to ship in 1 to 3 working days.
- Choice of wire gauges: 0.6mm (22 gauge) or 0.8mm (20 gauge).
- Choice of lengths:- 1 inch (25mm), 2 inches (50mm), 3 inches (75mm) or 4 inches (100mm).
- Spiral end is approximately 6mm to 7mm wide depending on the gauge selected.
- Tumble polished for strength and shine.
- Flat rate postage.
Please note that due to the handcrafted nature of these head pins, there will be slight variations between each pin.
WHAT IS GOLD FILLED?
"Gold filled" (or "rolled gold") comprises of a layer of pure 14 carat gold which is permanently bonded to a base metal (usually brass). By law, the layer of gold must be a minimum of 1/20th (or 5%) of the weight of the item. Gold fill is very hard wearing and will not peel or flake, unlike gold plate, under normal wear. It is therefore commonly used as an economical alternative to pure gold.
