Sustainability - I wanted to make good use of my offcuts. I had already used lots of beautiful scraps of fabric to make a crazy patchwork quilted fabric for some stuffed hanging hearts. I carefully cut as many of the bigger hearts as I could from the quilted panel, and had a piece left over just big enough for this little one.

My pink and green floral heart keepsake has a little hand embroidered tag saying Mum - fastened to the button by cord so it can be displayed on the heart, or used separately as a gift tag. Cut from an offcut of crazy patchwork made by me, this lovely heart is decorated with hand embroidery and a vintage button.
Ideal for a birthday or Mothers Day, this would also be a beautiful gift to send to a new mum.
Letterbox gift - your handcrafted heart will be wrapped in tissue and popped into a little cardboard box that fits through standard letterboxes.
I can post direct - just leave the name and address in the options box. (UK addresses only.) You can also add a little message that I will print out and add to the box.
Size - 4 inches (10 cm) without loop.
The front of the heart is hand cut from a patchwork fabric I created from floral and co-ordinating cotton prints in pinks and greens, and quilted in a basket weave effect. It is embroidered in green and pilk threads, and has a vintage pink button and white hanging ribbon. It is is backed with cerise felt and blanket stitched all the way round.
Mum is hand embroidered onto double layered 100% wool felt in pink and white, and fastens to the button with a cord. It can also be removed completely to use as a gift tag.
