Miniature Dalmatian dog model hand made from recycled paper and book pages. Made using papi r-mach and acrylic paint. Red diamonds design pattern instead of spots
This is for a single dog with diamonds pattern - also available as a set of 4
I created the coat colours from recycled book pages and acrylic paint, depicting patterns from playing cards instead of spots black spades and clubs, red hearts and diamonds.
The words spade , club , heart and diamonds are written on the right hand sides of their necks in the place of a collar. This was originally not intended the first one I made I painted with diamonds pattern and only noticed afterwards that it said diamonds across its neck!
Dimensions: height approximately 9cm, length from nose to tail approximately 12cm
My little animal models are inspired by the stories I tell myself when I walk in the forest near my home and my childhood toys. I created these unusual, quirky sculptures because I wanted to decorate my bedroom with little woodland creatures, crooked wooden houses and miniature Canadian log cabins. I build these from recycled vintage book pages - I do not use any wire structure underneath, each sculpture is built entirely from the paper. I paint each animal carefully by hand. Each sculpture is unique in shape, appearance and character.
My animals are completely solid once all the layers of glue and paint are dry - they are light, not heavy to hold. They are robust and do not break if dropped.
