This painting is created with a soft, neutral Naples yellow and white background.
I then chose Paynes Grey and burnt sienna and swept across the canvas using a palette knife to apply and spread the paint. I added gold leaf to some areas of the painting which catches the light beautifully, and really brings the artwork to life.
Finally, I painted a Paynes Grey border on the canvas to frame it as I feel it just adds that finished touch.
