Welcome to our Folksy shop! We are retired, keen hobbyists who have spent years making and creating.
We make a variety of hand made gifts, decorations and ornaments for home and garden.
As much as possible, we like to use recycled packing to do our bit for the environment.
Colour, gardening and something quirky is often our inspiration.

Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.

This brightly coloured, hand made set of 2 bulrush garden ornaments make a lovely gift for anyone who is a keen gardener, they bring a splash of colour to a dull garden corner, a centre piece in a rockery or colourful addition to a large planter.
The bulrushes have been hand made using offcut strips of steel and metal round bar to form the stake with decorative, hand shaped scroll work to symbolise foliage and each one is topped with an obsolete metal finial.
The main part of each bulrush consists of a fused glass panel made in our Hippy Rainbow design. Each panel consists of strips of coloured glass decorated with glass stripes and/or nuggets in complimentary tones to really make the colours pop. There are a mixture of bright and cheerful colours in each panel.
Each bulrush is single sided and they are therefore ideal for display against a wall or fence. The metal parts of the bulrushes have been left entirely unfinished, this means that they will rust over time, further enhancing the contrast between the different materials used.
Measuring approximately 75cm tall before being securely staked into the earth, each bulrush has a glass panel measuring around 9cm long x 3cm wide and, taking the metal scroll work into account, each ornament is around 13cm wide (at their widest point).
Due to the components we have used to create these ornaments, they are not suitable for children or display in a children's play area.
