A very warm welcome to my collection of original artwork.
If you are buying artwork as a gift, I can gift wrap the painting and send it on to the recipient. Just send me the details at checkout. Prior to posting, framed paintings will be covered with glassine paper before being carefully encased in a protective wrap. Wherever possible, I reuse internal wrapping materials I have collected. The painting will then be secured in a heavy duty mailing box. For unframed artworks, the paintings will be mailed in a reinforced, hard backed envelope.
(71) This impasto acrylic painting celebrates the grandeur of the Capercaillie, a magnificent woodland grouse native to Scotland. I've called this work, 'Horse Of The Woodland'. The word 'capercaillie' is a corruption of the Scottish gaelic word meaning ' Horse of the Woodland'. This would make an ideal gift for any occasion.

Full description
This acrylic painting of a Capercaillie is ready to hang. This is an original painting of the Capercaillie bird in acrylics. I've applied thick layers of paint to create a tactile texture to the feathers and also the grasses in the foreground. The impasto technique emphasises the woven patterns of the feathers. The bird's iridescent feathers catch the light, revealing shades of deep brown, black, and hints of green.

- This is an original, one-off, acrylic painting on a sealed cradled canvas.
- The sides of the canvas have been painted, so no frame is required.
- The artwork is ready to be hung or can be free standing.
- The painting has had a protective coat applied and has been varnished.
