I was first inspired to hand carve a piece of slate as a pet memorial for some friends, when their cat Rosie sadly passed away. I then developed the idea to create a range of hand carved pet memorials in that style and this is one of those items.

A thoughtful gift to give someone special for birthdays, Christmas, new home, Valentine's Day & wedding gifts or just to say thank you. This 20mm thick free-standing piece of natural slate can be used as a book end, coaster, ornament, paper weight or for display on a bookcase, desk, mantelpiece or window cill. A purr..fect gift for anyone that likes cats!

The slate is hand carved to form a cute cat shape and a heart in the surface, then painted with a purple enamel paint and then partially filled with clear resin. The striking effect of shiny purple on slate is classy and tactile to touch.
