I was first inspired to hand carve a piece of slate as a pet memorial for some friends, when their cat Rosie sadly passed away. I then developed the idea to create a range of hand carved pet memorials and also animal celebrations in that style and this is one of those items.

A lovely gift to give someone special for birthdays, Christmas, engagement, new home, Valentine's & wedding gifts or just to say thank you. This thick free-standing piece of natural slate can be used as a book end, coaster, ornament, paper weight or for display on a bookcase, desk, mantelpiece or window cill. An ideal present for animal lovers and especially anyone that likes penguins!
The slate is hand carved to form deep penguins in the surface, then painted with a gold enamel paint. The contrasting effect of the gold on slate is stunning but if you would prefer a metallic silver or deep red colour for the penguins, then please message me when you place your order or add a note at the checkout, thanks.
