Anything that helps people reduce their use of single use plastics gets my vote. My daughter had a little snack bag for her toddler and it inspired me to research possible fabrics and designs for making my snack and sandwich bags.

This pretty sandwich bag will make having a packed lunch much more fun, will save you money and protect the environment!
The outside is made from cotton fabric decorated with jars, pots and Russian dolls. The lining is a white food-safe, waterproof fabric known as PUL - more details below. It can be wiped clean or washed by hand or in the machine. Reduce your use of cling film or single use plastics whilst making your lunch more attractive.
Our sandwich bags are constructed similar to a pillowcase. There are no fastenings or awkward corners to trap crumbs. The flap simply folds over the top of the bag and keeps the contents secure and fresh. So much easier to use than beeswax wraps.
We also make little snack bags to a similar design.
These bags measure approximately 17 x 20cm and are ideal to hold a filled roll, round of sandwiches or whatever takes your fancy. They're also great for storing things like cheese in the fridge.
PUL stands for Polyurethane Laminate - a soft, waterproof and breathable fabric, manufactured in an environmentally friendly way. It is safe for food use as it does not give off any toxic chemicals. The waterproofing comes from a thin layer of plastic which has been bonded to polyester fabric. It has been tested for at least 300 washes. Whilst the fabric is not totally plastic free, using these products could significantly reduce your use of plastic bags, films and boxes.
