I really enjoyed making these tumble dryer balls. They are 100% pure wool, made from a combination of dyed fleece, waste wool and yarn, felted together to make a firm ball. They will not unravel, as the process makes a secure finished product. Each ball in this set is decorated with a daisy, using a needle-felting method and a lovely combination of colours. They are supplied in a handy drawstring bag. This is a set of three balls. Under separate listings we have sets of four. Three does a good job - four is better!
Balls may vary a little in size but are usually a little smaller than a tennis-ball and weigh about 35g. They can reduce drying time by up to a third, by separating items of laundry, allowing a better flow of warm air. They also smooth out creases, soften towels and can reduce static. Being made from pure wool means that the dryer balls reduce your use of plastics or non-recyclable dryer sheets and as the wool absorbs water from your laundry, drying is more effective. Wool balls can be used over and over again and will not release any toxic chemicals into your dryer. When they reach the end of their useful life you can pop them in your compost bin. This won’t be for a long time. I’ve had mine for nearly 3 years and they’re as good as new!
