Maple is an interesting wood to work with. I find it quite hard and brittle but I love the subtle grain patterns within the wood. Starting out with something hard and unyielding and finishing with something smooth and curvaceous is a nice feeling.

Take control of those pens and pencils on your desk with this lovely piece of Desk Art.
Made from reclaimed Maple this compact, 4-pen holder measures just 16cm x 6cm x 2cm (6.25” x 2.5” x 0.75” approx.).
It has a cork base to protect your desk and is hand-sanded and finished in natural beeswax.
The grain pattern in the Maple is exaggerated by the pen holders, giving it a very three-dimensional look.
Being a lighter coloured wood, this Maple pen holder would look great against a darker desk.
