I have always liked ancient Celt and Nordic aesthetics, and this item is a finer example of their titular braiding style.
The Triskelion design is classic Celtic imagery but it is also much more ancient than that. Dating as far back as the Neolithic era some 7,000 years ago it has been used in a number of cultures. Notably a Triskele design using human legs has been the Hellenistic symbol for Sicily since the time of the ancient greeks.
