Life felt like it was burning around me. And in that moment I picked up my wood burning pen and cathartically designed this picture. The flames looked flat and I found gild lane and decided to incorporate their beautiful acrylic gilding into not only this but my other pieces too. So whilst this is very experimental for me it’s been a turning point. So truly from a moment where it felt like my world was on fire has come new life

Full description
The world burnt around me. The charred life I once knew. But then I looked up, and I saw the phoenix, rising from the flames, embers embellishing every feather that fluttered from the bird. For even from fire can come life. And this life will be more powerful than anything that came before.
Wood burnt into a wood slice from a mixed bundle so I'm unsure of the type of wood and eyelet fixtures with twine ready to hang. Finished using danish oil.
Embellished with acrylic gilding paint from gild lane.
Backed with natural wool felt and a woven tag with our logo hand stitched in the corners to the felt.
Measurements-
Wooden slice at widest part top to bottom 7 inches
Wooden slice at widest part from side to side 6.25 inches
From twine hanging point (twine extended to a point) to the bottom of the wooden slice 11 inches
Please note that part of the beauty of each piece is the natural wood. So there may be imperfections, cracks in the wood or bark that peels. I have done my best to sand and prevent any fall out, without loosing the beauty of the wood.
