There is some controversy over what kind of stone Kambaba Jasper actual is.
Due to its appearance, some believe it to be a form of fossilised algae called stromatolite.
However analysis by the EPI, the German institute for gemstone testing, places it as volcanic in origin, which means it cannot be a fossil as these occur in sedimentary rocks rather than volcanic.
Whatever its origin, once polished it is a truly beautiful and unique stone.
A deep, forest green, with overtones of sage, and black swirls that create strange and wonderful patterns.

Gorgeous, polished, 13x18mm Kambaba Jasper ovals topped with a 6mm and a 4mm Kambaba Jasper round bead, separated by 2mm gold vermeil spacers and hung from gold vermeil ear-wires.
Gold vermeil is sterling silver that has been plated with 18k gold, and the wires are stamped '925'.
The Kambaba Jasper ovals are a beautiful forest green with swirls of lighter green, tan and black, forming intricate patterns.
These striking earrings measure approximately 1.5 inches (4cm), excluding the wires.
Your earrings will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a small organza gift bag.
