Full description
Roomy and eco-conscious. This zipped shoulder tote bag has been handmade with meticulous attention to detail using recycled, pre-loved dark indigo denim jeans. It has a heavy weight cotton linen mix fabric lining in beige and orange stripes.
Using lots of features from the original jeans makes it a absolute one of a kind..
Slouchy and light to wear but designed to be sturdy enough for everyday use or a perfect overnight bag.
On the outside (front and back) are usable jeans pockets from the original jeans, inside there is a deep zipped, pocket and a divided slip pocket too.
For those of us who lose our keys in the bottom of our bag, there's a swivel lobster clasp secured to the inside of the bag with a grosgrain ribbon. The opening is secured with a beige chunky plastic zip with a matching leather zip pull.
Oh, and the frayed detailing is fully reinforced but adds an interesting detail.
Inside (and hidden) the base of the bag has been given additional soft shape and structure with the addition of a bag base made using layers of pvc coated cotton offcuts.
Measurements (approx): depth at centre of bag 39cm, width at base 43cm, width at zip 35cm. Base of bag 43cm x 11.5cm
The shoulder straps are made from the waistband of the jeans with the addition of light khaki webbing. Handles approx: drop 39cm, length 80cm
Will be wrapped in tissue and boxed for posting.
All of the waste from my bag making is collected for recycling
