Hi there! Welcome to my shop- Islamaymakes.
All of my makes are my own ideas and exclusive to me. Yes- they do cost a little more than mass produced items because they are all one of a kind , handsticthed, embroidered works of felt art.
I use only heirloom quality 100 % wool felt made in Europe and supplied by two UK based companies.
The felt is soft, strong, non-flammable and naturally stain resistant: it doesn't lose shape or go bobbly and contains no nasty chemicals.
I use natural 100% British wool fleece for stuffing my makes. It has been carefully washed and dried in the UK and has not been bleached or subjected to any chemical processes.
Natural wool’s advantages over synthetic alternatives are clear; it is hypoallergenic, odour resistant, and a natural fire retardant.
I sew with DMC or Anchor 100 % cotton threads , Liberty Print Tana Lawn for appliques work and where possible I use Tana Lawn spaghetti cord or cotton sateen ribbon for my hangers.

The Garvle Goat is a traditional Christmas display put up every year since 1966 in the Castle Square of the city of Garvle in Sweden. The display is a giant version of a traditional Swedish Yule goat figure made from straw.
The unusual thing about the Garvle Goat is that it has been the subject of repeated arson attacks and the display has gone up in flames 38 out of the 57 years since its first appearance! The goat did survive last year but was burnt to the ground in 2021. These attacks have happened despite a nearby fire station and 24 hour round the clock security!
From the end of November there will be a live feed (just type Garvle Goat into Google and click on the city website) from cameras in Castle Square- so you too can watch over the goat. It has its own Wikipedia page with lots more interesting information …..

This unusual Scandi Christmas felt yule goat hanging decoration is my representation of the Scandanavian Yule Goat.
Made from 100% wool felt and embroidered using red cotton thread, the Yule goat has a red harness with a little jingly bell attached. Popular throughout Scandinavia, no house would be without it’s own Yule Goat.
In Scandinavia people believed the Yule goat to be an invisible spirit that would appear during Advent to make sure the holiday preparations were done correctly.

Although very cute and attractive to both adults and children, my makes are NOT toys. They are decorative accessories and as such have not been tested for toy safety.
