I used to do a lot of tapestry but found from doing my own I appreciate the skill and patience I don't have in other folks work. I felt their skills needed to be celebrated and preserved so I turn these little works of art into lovely useable cushion. For over 10years I've done this and in that time only once have I bought the same tapestry!

This is a lovely one off cushion designed and upcycled by me in my sewingroom from a vintage tapestry I bought. For ten years I have been making and selling this style of recycled cushion and I love the fact they are all individual pieces. It is perfect for those who appreciate the beauty of a vintage design and would like to add a unique touch to their home.
The hand sewn vintage wool tapestry is of an old fashioned shop bay windows. The tapestry is well sewn. As someone who has done tapestry I can appreciate the hours of work and skill that has gone into creating this tapestry, not to mention the costs.
It is 12inches/31cms by 16 inches 41cms and has a plain dusky pink velvet back which is made from a recycled cleaned cotton velvet curtain. Trimmed with brown bobbles,it has a zip closure, my makers label on the back and the cushion pad is made from some of the 19million recycled plasic water bottles recyled a day in the UK.
