I was drawn to images of these stacked stones and cairns dotted over Scottish beaches and hills. The original was completed as a mono colour linoprint, but when I had the fabric out I thought that this would give extra texture to the individual stones.

Full description
This is an image of stacked stones on a beach, each stone has been made from scrap fabrics and attached with an applique method and free motion embroidery. The beach uses gold thread to create a stony effect.
The hoop measures 8 inches. Hoop has been closed with a hand stitched dark green felt circle.
