A vase of this style , with all the making stages, will take anywhere between 8-10 hours.
There is the preparation of the clay; rolling out of the coils; creation of the shape; bisque firing; glazing; and second firing. In addition to the costs of labour there are other overheads including the more obvious of the clay, the glazes and the two kiln firings.

Full description
A beautiful and unique hand built vase. It was made using coils. Iit is the glazes that make this vase particularly stunning. On the outside a series of glazes were applied in different thicknesses. When fired this has caused the base glazes to come to the forefront. A contrast to the rest of the flecked glaze, it also adds some texture on the side edges. On the inside of the lip, a series of blue glazes were applied, one of which had some crystals in it. The arising effect is stunning, as scan be seen in the images. The vase is ca 237mm/9.25" in height, has a maximum width of 205mm/8" and a depth of 77mm/3". P&P is free for the UK. Overseas buyers please contact me for a quote for the postage.
