I bought this fabric as part of a slow stitch kit and recycled the scissors and metal buttons from an old necklace.

This pretty little needle case is created from scraps of cotton fabric in hues of cream, red and a hint of blue hand stitched in red and white cotton in a variety of stitches onto a calico backing.
The cream cotton lining has a ditsy daisy design in pink and blue with a pocket either end to keep sewing bits in. The red wool felt inner will hold needles and pins.
The front is embellished with heart shaped buttons, a sewing charm, piece of tape measure, a red ribbon rose and a metal pair of scissors and 2 buttons taken from an old necklace. The back has a lovely piece of cream lace, a red button in the shape of a flower which holds the thin red ribbon with a white spot that fastens the case.
As this is hand sewn there are frayed edges but this is part of the overall look of the item.
Treat yourself or the perfect gift for a sewing friend.
