Full description

- ABOUT THE MOSAIC -

This sweet pique assiette 'Angel of Music' was created from a selection of vintage china which I hand cut to shape using traditional mosaic tools. The angel's face is a glass cabochon. I have chosen a light grey grout to compliment the china & painted the back light grey. The angel is cut from 3mm plywood & measures approximately 95mm x 105mm

- ABOUT MY STYLE -

My style of mosaic making is known as pique assiette, which various sources say means “stolen plate” or “broken plate”. I have always been an avid recycler & predominantly use recycled teacups, saucers, plates & other found objects in my art. My style means my creations are not only totally unique, but are also inline with the 3 Rs of recycling - reducing waste, reusing and recycling
