Whilst walking in the countryside in the autumn months I am drawn to the delicate and intricate shapes of seed heads that nature creates to replace the beautiful flowers.

Merino wool felt picture of 3 seed heads on a green striped background with wooden heart motif.
This artwork is made using a combination of wet felting techniques and embroidery.
Due to the wet felting process it is one of a kind and no two designs are ever identical.
The background is wet felted. It is a process that involves laying down multiple layers of raw un-spun merino wool, which is then moistened and repeatedly rolled until all the wool fibres mesh or 'felt' together. I don’t completely felt the wool so that individual fibres are still visible and add texture to the image. Once dry I added the seed head detail using hand embroidery and beads.
I love the calm, natural feel of the colours and imagery.
The felt artwork is approximately 300mm wide by 100mm tall (12" x 4"). It is mounted on lightly textured white watercolour paper 381mm wide by 152mm tall (15" x 6").
Should fit a 15" x 6" letterbox shaped picture frame - not provided.
Gift bag pictured not included.
