My wife asked me to make a smallish wooden Christmas tree for our bay window, leaving the design to me.
After some research, I decided that the pointed branches on most of the examples I saw didn’t fit my ideas and the materials I had on hand.
The curvy sweeping lines I came up with blended into each other and went well with the pine wood of the slats I had.
As I finished it, I was informed that battery operated lights were mandatory .

I purchased some and installed them through the wood to hide the wiring, then I painted the star Silver. That and the base came from an old beam of wood that I had.
To differentiate between the tree and the base, I waxed the base with medium oak natural wax and then fixed green felt to the underside to prevent scratching.
My wife is thrilled!
I then decided to make more, with variations, so that no two are alike.
Our house is now filled with wooden trees at Christmas!
