My ex partners father (rest his soul) presented me with a small piece of mahogany and asked if I could do anything with it. It was an old plaque that had been in his family for at least three generations that he knew of. At first it was going to be a little trinket dish but the way that it shines and shimmers as you turn it in the light was telling me it should be something more than that. At the time I had never made a hollow form but the idea stuck and I was determined to follow through with it. After proudly presenting him with the finished piece he told me that he had never intented to take it back. It's time for it to find a new home where it'll be appreciated.

Full description
This has been made using a new piece of beech, and an antique scottish mahogany plaque that I was challenged to do something with. After far more work than I thought it would be, I'm really happy with how it has turned out. Especially it's little feet and beeswax finish. It would be perfect for holding potpourri.
