A4 print of my artwork 'The Alaotra Reed Lemur'.
These two handsome teddy bears are referred to as Alaotra Gentle lemurs or locally as 'bandros'.
They're endemic to the reed beds in Lac Alaotra, Northeast Madagascar. There is no estimation for the number of adults remaining in the wild, however a new 42,500 hectare protected area was created around the lake in 2007 which should provide some safety for the species.
In spite of these conservation efforts, the IUCN still recognises them to be critically endangered.
10% OF PROFITS FROM THE SALE OF EACH PRINT WILL BE DONATED TO THE IUCN TO FUND THEIR CONSERVATION RESEARCH.
