My world of donkeys! Those familiar with my prints might be aware that I create a lot of prints featuring donkeys. I don't think they are championed nearly as much as they should be in the art world, so I feel it is my job to do so. Over time, the donkey prints have become more and more surreal, their surroundings becoming a strange and intriguing place for them to explore.

Full description

This is a hand-pulled linocut / screen-print entitled 'Donkey Icon No.1' printed with ultramarine blue ink on cream paper.

In my attempt to celebrate donkeys, here I decided to try and create some icons, simple graphic images to represent the creatures and the mysterious worlds which I have created for them. I started with small linocuts and blew them up quite big for the final print. Sports teams have logos, why can't donkeys?

Ultramarine blue System 3 ink on Antique White Seawhite 280gsm acid-free paper. From an edition of only 30, signed, stamped, titled and numbered. The print started out as a linocut. I then added the halftones (spotty bits), before printing the edition as a screen-print.

The print image measures H42xW31cm.

The paper measures H59.4xW42cm.

Printed by myself in Sheffield, UK. Each one is slightly different, as is the nature with screen-prints.

I have also created a companion print 'Donkey Icon No.2' in red ink on cream paper which you can see in the images, and also here:

All prints will be posted securely in a card tube and sent by first-class post (UK) or Airmail (rest of the world).
