Welcome to my shop full of needle felt birds, artfully made in wool and natural fibres.
I am busy felting new birds and making plans for some exciting new collections for 2026. I only add finished birds to my Folksy shop, so you can rest assured they can be posted within 24 hours of ordering and will fly safely to you or a gift recipient within a few days.

I find water birds fascinating. The Common Snipe is a shy bird and very difficult to see. It has amazing plumage with lines and swirls of colour in order to break up its profile and shape to hide it from eagle-eyed predators. I really wanted to tackle all those patterns and I think it came out beautifully with all the carefully blended wool colours.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.

Full description
A beautifully detailed Snipe made from wool and covered in carefully added plumage patterns to mimic its perfect natural colouring. Freestanding as if taking a step forward, the wired legs are wrapped in green wool and sealed with wax. Measuring 23 cms long and 19 cms tall, this Snipe has a wonderfully long beak and large glass eyes that hold you in its stare.
