Full description

Douglas Tartan -

Clan Douglas is a Lowland clan, taking its name from the Gaelic 'dubh glas' meaning 'black water'.

In the early 12th century, 'Theobald le Fleming' was granted the Douglas lands in Lanarkshire, by the Abbot of Kelso, and his son was styled Lord of Douglas.

He was the first man to assume the name.

There are 5 Douglas tartan clan patterns.

This is a new addition to my tartan accessories range.

This cute little tartan brooch pin is made to order and will take a few days to make, plus delivery time.

It is great for a touch of tartan to an outfit or hat or onto a wedding dress or costume, or simply as a gift.

Made with a small circle of sapphire felt with a small brooch pin attached and a handmade and sewn ruffle of Douglas Ancient tartan ribbon with wide ribbon shaped trails and finished with a cluster of sapphire and ivory pearls, a silver Celtic button or bronze Celtic knot button with a choice of finishes.

Size approx- 6 cm wide x 10 cm long

Also available to order in a wide range of tartans and coloured beads finishes.

Designed by Penni Wallace in Somerset
