Smoky quartz is the national gem of Scotland, traditionally used in the handle of the sgian dubh, the sock dagger worn with the kilt.
Carnelian is a warm, orange-red stone, a variety of Chalcedony, a member of the Quartz family.
Used as an adornment by man for over 4,500 years, this stone has come to symbolise health, luck and royalty.
It was prescribed by ancient healers to 'invigorate the blood'.
It is considered a birthstone for both July and Cancer, as an alternative to Ruby, and as a Zodiac stone for Leo and August.

Full description
Each of these dainty earrings features a 8-9mm Smokey Quartz oval nugget and 3.5mm faceted Smokey Quartz round bead, topped with a trio of 2.75, AAA grade, micro-faceted Carnelian beads.
The translucent Smoky Quartz nuggets are rough cut to a flat oval and are soft, grey-brown colour.
The faceted beads add a subtle sparkle, while the Carnelian adds pop of sunset orange colour.
The tiny gold spacer beads and the ear-wires are gold vermeil, which is sterling silver that has been plated with 18k gold.
These pretty earrings measure approximately 1.35 inches (3cm), excluding the wires.
Your earrings will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a small organza gift bag.
