Threave Castle stands on an island on the river dee, only accessible by boat. It is part of a nature reserve with lots of bird hides where you can see - as well as geese - the Osprey's nest and sightings of Peregrine Falcons that nest in the Castle. A short walk form Castle Douglas in Dumfries and Galloway, South West Scotland. My family has been coming here for many years, and I have a particular fondness for the castle and watching the Ospreys and falcons, that's why I created the embroidery design for the bags.
