Earlier in the year we decided to try and tan our own sheepskins when they went off for the farm shop. If we didn't take our skins back they are exported to Europe, chemically treated and then sold back to us via big corporate companies. We thought we'd cut out all the travelling and give it a crack ourselves and we're pretty pleased with the outcome!

Full description
This gorgeous sheepskin come from a wether hogget Black wensleydale called Arthur. His skin has been tanned by hand and turned into a sheepskin rug showcasing his luscious locks.
As this sheepskin has not be produced by a machine the leather may appear more rustic than we're used to seeing.
Wensleydale sheep have wonderful long locks of wool which are highly desirable by spinners and fibre artists.
Due to the length of the staple this rug is suitable for low traffic areas or as a display piece. It cannot be brushed otherwise the staple will lose its ringlets.
To clean, spot clean with a spray gun or dry clean.
