This project was on my list for many years, then one winter I kept seeing a pair of crows wherever I went, reminding me this had to be my next linocut.

Full description

'Twa Corbies' is an original linocut print featuring two ravens, printed by hand in rich black ink. This print is inspired by the Scottish ballad 'The Twa Corbies', a dark folk song about two crows/ravens that are discussing their next meal - a slain knight.

Specifications:

Paper size approx 30.5x30.5cm/12x12" for easy framing.

Printed area approx 25x25cm.

Printed on 150g off-white printmaking paper using oil based inks.

Each print is titled and signed by the artist (me!).

Open edition.

Hows it's made:

This is an original piece of art (not a digital reproduction), handcrafted from beginning to end. Once the design is carved into the lino, I pull each print individually using traditional hand-burnishing techniques. Due to the variations in pressure and ink, each print is truly unique and may be slightly different from the photographed example.

Please note colours may vary slightly from digital image.

Thanks for looking! If you have any questions about this print please get in touch.
