Full description

'Jewellery Thief' is an original linocut print of a magpie adding to his nest of treasures, printed by hand in rich black ink. This print is inspired by the story of The Thieving Magpie, in which a maid nearly goes to the gallows for stealing her master's silver, but at the last moment it is revealed that the thief is actually a magpie.

Specifications:

Paper size approx 30.5x30.5cm/12x12" for easy framing.

Printed area approx 23x23cm - fits beautifully inside a 10x10" mount.

Printed on Zerkall off-white printmaking paper using oil based inks.

Each print is numbered, titled and signed by the artist (me!).

Limited edition of 50 prints.

Hows it's made:

This is an original piece of art (not a digital reproduction), handcrafted from beginning to end. Once the design is carved into the lino, I pull each print individually using traditional hand-burnishing techniques. Due to the variations in pressure and ink, each print is truly unique and may be slightly different from the photographed example.
