The circular symbol of the three hares is an ancient motif found across the world in sacred sites. It's meaning is open to interpretation but here I have used it to depict the endless cycle of life, death and rebirth. I occasionally see hares in the farmer's field near where I live and their presence brings me so much joy and inspiration.

Full description
'Three Hares' is a two colour original linocut, printed by hand in rich black and burnt orange ink. It features the three hares motif, also known as Tinners' Rabbits, running in an endless circle in the British countryside.
Specifications:
Paper size approx 10x10" for easy framing.
Printed area approx 20x20cm.
Printed on smooth Japanese paper using oil based inks.
Each print is titled and signed by the artist (me!).
Open edition.
Hows it's made:
This is an original piece of art (not a digital reproduction), handcrafted from beginning to end. Once the design is carved into the lino, I pull each print individually using traditional hand-burnishing techniques. Due to the variations in pressure and ink, each print is truly unique and may be slightly different from the photographed example.
Please note colours may vary slightly from digital image.
Thank you for looking! If you have any questions about this print please get in touch.
