If you didn't know, the Royal Academy of Art, in London, has been having the Summer Show for about a million years. It is an open exhibition in which any artist can enter their work for selection.
I have been entering since 1993, it's my thirtieth anniversary.
This piece shows all the years I have been rejected, as usual made from old clothes and otherwise unusable fabrics.
It was featured on a BBC programme called Joe Lycett: Summer Exhibitionist, which is still on the iPlayer if you fancy a laugh and have access.
In case you wondered, the gaps aren't years I got accepted (I've never been accepted) but years when life got in the way.
