On 15th June 2020, Marcus Rashford wrote an open letter to the government asking to overturn the decision not to extend the food voucher scheme for vulnerable children during the school summer holidays.
During the Euros (that’s the football, not the money) Rashford, Sancho and Saka received horrendous racial abuse when they missed penalties.
‘Get outta my pub/capitol’ is a nod to the death of Babs Windsor and the storming of the Capitol Building.
‘Hand of God’ refers to the death of Diego Maradona, whilst commenting on the wider Covid situation and the frequent comparisons to biblical plagues.
‘Never-ending shade’ is a quote from a poem by Amanda Gorman, which she read at the Biden/Harris inauguration. ‘I won this election by a lot’ is a Trump tweet.
‘Barefaced liar…’ is from the much anticipated Line Of Duty BBC series.

Full description

Museum standard giclée print, with fade-resistant ink, of my hand-stitched textile collage.

A3 (42cms x 29.7cms) unframed. See 'CHOOSE OPTIONS' for larger sizes.

Limited edition of 500, with a Certificate of Authenticity. The hologram, serial number and date ensures the work can always be traced back to its source.

On FSC-certified Hahnemühle 290gsm acid-free (and vegan) paper. During the production of which, the wastewater is uncontaminated and returned to the source, and the electricity comes from 100% renewable energy sources.

The original work, from which this print is taken, is the second in my ‘Exile Textile’ series (prints of the others are also in my shop) made from materials found around my parents’ house, as I nursed my mother in the final year of her life. The date of her death is stitched, along with that of Des O’Connor, who died the same year.

As well as a personal diary, it also documents events in the wider world at the time of the lockdowns and beyond.

Price includes UK postage. Despatched directly from the printer’s, Klein Imaging in Manchester, using Royal Mail Tracked. Overseas buyers please note that you may be charged taxes in accordance with your country’s laws.

Printed to order, hence the longer despatch time. It will arrive in a plastic bag. Klein has told me that the compostable ones don't protect the paper from the elements and have not found an alternative.

A white border is included in the size.
