All jewellery listed here that says silver is sterling silver, I do not use silver plate at all. There will be elements of sterling silver in every design (except keyrings), some will be completely so, others may have combinations of copper, brass, bronze, glass, enamel, pewter, resin, upcycled biscuit tins and pre-decimal coins and/or semi-precious stones as well. Many of the designs are one-of-a-kind.
A friend wanted an ox pendant for her 50th birthday this year, the Year of the Ox. This was one of the prototypes I made, along with a whole ox and a symbol in Chinese writing. She chose the symbol to be made in sterling silver as it was more appropriate for the pendant she wanted - and also, better for a smaller size, more appropriate for a pendant.

An ox representation cut from pewter sheet. Sterling silver brooch fastener attached. Approximately 3.5 x 4cms. Light, random texture.

This year is the Chinese Year of The Ox (or cow), so for anyone born in most months of the following years: 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009. (N.B. THe Chinese year changes the start/finish each year, so it can be in January or February, do check if buying as a present.)
Handcrafted in Lancashire
N.B. The pewter that you find today, including the metal I use, does not contain lead anymore, consequently, it's alot shinier than it was historically.
Pewter is an alloy consisting mainly of tin though it also contains very small amounts of copper and antimony. It is definitely lead-free and nickel-free.
The fastener is glued on - pewter fires at a much lower temperature than sterling silver making soldering problematical.
