I like the challenge of upcycle items with limited fabric.

Full description

I loved this butterfly chart on fabric so I have upcycled it in to a top.

I watched a programme recently on huipil tops made in Mexico, square shaped, loose fitting and beautifully decorated, and have loved them ever since, so this was the inspiration for the shape of this unique top.

Get your tape measures ready...

Across shoulder 59cm

Neck 64cm

Armhole 49cm

Waist circumference 116cm

Nape to waist 58cm

Nape to belt loop 48cm

Belt 116cm

The fabric had no label but it is manmade, something like polyester (same as the matching butterfly skirt currently listed)it is slightly off white with glorious butterfly images plus their Latin names, so this garment is pretty, educational and as it had a previous life it is helping the environment.

I have used bias binding on the neck, I have added a loop at the back seam to hold the belt if you choose to use it to draw in your waist, or it can be worn without so it is baggy. This would look perfect with a denim skirt for summer. Wear it in winter, pick layers of garments in one of the many colours you can pick out from the print, wear with a long sleeve t shirt underneath and smart trousers or long skirt with boots.

Items will be posted 2nd class so I don't have to increase postage charges.
