Sewing is a huge passion of mine and the benefits that I personally reap from it are plentiful, especially in relation to its creative and mindful nature. I would love to share these benefits with others, while also embracing my teaching background, hence the inspiration to create a series of instructed sewing kits as a way of hopefully achieving this goal.

Full description
The 'Have A Go Hoop' is designed exactly as it says. It is an open ended beginner sewing kit that has been created for children to explore sewing in a safe, friendly and expectation free way. The free form nature allows their imagination and creativity to flow with the different threads and embellishments providing endless scope.
The sewing kit contains 3 pieces of hessian allowing the activity to be returned to time and time again increasing the opportunities to build confidence while engaging in a mindful activity. The kit is designed to be used by children of any age and ability and comes complete with a blunt needle suitable (with supervision) for the youngest of sewing enthusiasts.
The kit contains:
- A 6inch embroidery hoop with a screw fastening that will hold the hessian taught for easy stitching as well as potentially providing a display frame for one of the finished pieces.
- 3 pieces of hessian approximately 8inch/20cm square
- A blunt sewing needle complete with a handy needle threader
- At least 100inches/2.5metres each of 5 colours of wool
- At least 100inches/2.5metres each of 3 colours of stranded embroidery thread
- A minimum of 12 assorted wooden beads
- A minimum of 12 assorted buttons
- A minimum of 12 punched felt shapes
As it says on the label, there are no instructions in this kit (except for the needle threader), it is all about having a go, experimenting and finding out for yourself.
