From my own imagination, this is a painting that draws inspiration from 1930s horror films, "Cowardesque" theatre, Art Deco and surreal narrative.

Incorporating the idea of a painting within a painting, the mysterious players in the theatrical tableau are watched over by an even more sinister painting above the mantelpiece.
This original gouache and watercolour artwork measures 405 mm x 280 mm (16" x 10.6") plus a narrow border to assist framing. The painting is unmounted and unframed. Images of framed painting are for illustrative purposes only.
Painted on 325 gsm NOT cold pressed watercolour paper with artist grade gouache and watercolour paints. Signed on the front and reverse.
