Welcome to Hazleton Art- Botanical Cyanotype Photograms, handmade in Hampshire.
Cyanotype is a camera-less photographic technique, that produces a distinct ‘Prussian Blue’ colour print (Photogram) The process was discovered in 1842 by Sir John Herschel, as a means for reproducing drawings and diagrams (Blueprints). Botanist Anna Atkins in the late 19th century was the first to document seaweed and plants using this technique.

These little spring beauties can be found in woodlands all around my home and a few are nestled under the trees in my garden for me to use for Cyanotype. They're so delicate and sweet and are a sure sign that a new year is upon us, they dip their heads when it's wet and lift them up again when the sun pops out.
