Aventurine is a form of Chalcedony Quartz containing grains of colour-imparting minerals.
It is most commonly found in green, but also in orange, yellow, brown, and, as in this case, blue.
The blue colour comes from inclusions of the mineral dumortierite.
Other well known forms of Chalcedony Quartz are Agate, Carnelian and Onyx.

Full description
These pretty blue earrings each feature a 6mm and 4mm Blue Aventurine bead topped with a trio of Swarovski crystal bicones, one 4mm and two 3mm, in a colour called 'Capri blue'.
The crystals are highlighted with tiny 2mm sterling silver rounds, which accentuate the grey-blue of the Aventurine and the deep, sky blue of the Swarovski.
The beads are threaded onto sterling silver headpins and hung from sterling silver ear-wires.
These drop earrings measure approximately 1.25 inches (3cm), excluding the wires.
Your earrings will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a small organza gift bag.
