Full description
A roomy, oversized zipped shoulder tote bag that's been handmade using recycled, well loved, pre-loved denim jeans with a striped chenille trim and russet coloured taffeta lining.
Making the most of lots of features from the original jeans, bold red detailing compliments the striped chenille and and gives the bag a bold pop of colour.
The bag is soft and slouchy and light to wear but designed to be sturdy enough for everyday use, and would pack flat to fit in a suitcase for a fab holiday bag.
On the outside (front and back) are usable jeans pockets from the original jeans, inside there is a deep zipped, pocket. For those of us who lose our keys in the bottom of our bag, there's a swivel lobster clasp secured to the inside of the bag with a grosgrain ribbon.
The opening is secured with a chunky red and silver metal zip with a red leather zip pull.
Inside (and hidden) the base of the bag has been given additional soft shape and structure with the addition of a bag base made using layers of recycled plastic and pvc coated cotton offcuts.
Measurements (approx): depth at centre of bag 32cm, width at base 40cm, width at zip 34cm. Base of bag 40cm x 11cm
The shoulder straps are made from the waistband of the jeans with the addition of red webbing. Approx: drop 35cm, length 74cm
Will be wrapped in tissue and boxed for posting.
All of the waste from my bag making is collected for recycling
