I had a mahogany bowl of little distinction! and decided to repurpose it using an Oak off cut and clock movement. The marriage went very well and I'm delighted with the clock and its finish. The little bee's were again repurposed from a failed garden light and add a little fun to the finished clock

formed from Oak and mahogany this nice clock has the quarters highlighted with Bee 's. It has swept second hand movement and simply hung on wall using clip on back. About 7 " diameter it would make an ideal gift for adult or child alike. With a super wax finish
