This painting was done on location in 2016 when at the last minute I set off to see the sunset on the coast. I drove all the way to this spot near Swanage and walked up to the rocks with my painting gear. This painting was done quite quickly as the sun was setting rapidly.
I have many version of these dramatic rocks that inspire me again and again as they cast their shadows onto the turquoise shallow sea below.
