A love of the sea, Scotland’s coasts and islands, and the joys of growing and drying flowers for use in the home has led our family to establish Scents of Arran.
We’re passionate about island living, and sharing the multi-sensory wellbeing benefits of being close to plants and flowers.
Making sure we do this in a sustainable way, choosing recycled, re-usable and eco-friendly supplies, packaging and production methods, is equally important to us. It’s a learning process, and one that we are fully committed to.
We‘re also committed to providing the best customer service, so we promise to reply quickly to your messages and take on board your feedback .

Full description
Beachcombers everywhere understand the great joy to be found walking barefoot across the sand, taking in the sea air, finding respite from the world for a few windswept minutes exploring the flotsam brought ashore by the latest tide. And the chances are, on a Scottish coastline, you’ll be rewarded for your efforts with the treasure of a scallop shell.
This beautiful shell is meaningful to people and faiths around the world. For some, it is a symbol of pilgrimage and salvation, for others it is linked to to female fertility and sexuality. In Celtic culture, the scallop shell represented faith, loyalty, and connection to the ocean, its ridged grooves reminiscent of the tracks of waves on the shore – a reminder that we are all connected to the universal cycle of life.
Our elegant, 100% eco-friendly soy wax scallop-shaped candles are available in a range of botanical colours and scents. They feature an organic, unbleached, natural hemp wick which has a beeswax coating and guarantees a slow, steady burn - if you can bear to actually light them! We recommend you enjoy these candles for their decorative impact as a fun and evocative way to bring beach life into your home.
If you do decide to light them, please remember to always set the candles on a dish or holder which can catch the wax as it melts and pools.
