PHOTOGRAPH - I took this photograph in July 2021 at a West Sussex classic car show.
HISTORY - The Citroen 2CV was manufactured from 1948 to 1990 and originally conceived as the French 'Peoples' Car' suitable for the countryside featuring a long travel suspension, simple design with a 2 cylinder air cooled engine. There were four generations with the engine size increasing from 375cc, 425cc, 435cc to the latest model of 602cc and the body evolving from the corrugated steel look to the present styling. It was known affectionately as the 'Deux Chevaux' and was one of the most popular cars produced with a total production run including variants of over 9 million vehicles
